How to Update Your Fire TV (Amazon) System and App

Update Fire Stick TV

  1. Turn on your Fire Stick or Fire TV Stick – Make sure it's connected to your TV and powered on
  2. Go to the Home screen – Press the Home button on the remote
  3. Go to Settings – Navigate to the top of the screen and select Settings (the gear icon)
  4. Select My Fire TV – Scroll down in the Settings menu and choose My Fire TV
  5. Choose About – Inside the My Fire TV menu, click About
  6. Check for Updates – Select Check for Updates to see if any new software is available
  7. Download and Install – If an update is available, it will download and install automatically. The device will restart after the update

How to update Victory+ on Fire Stick or Fire TV Stick

  1. Turn on your Fire Stick or Fire TV Stick – Make sure it’s plugged in and connected to your TV
  2. Go to the Home screen – Press the Home button on the remote (it looks like a house)
  3. Go to Settings – Look to the far right of the screen and pick Settings (the little gear icon with your profile avatar)
  4. Select Applications – In Settings, scroll down and click on Applications
  5. Pick Manage Installed Applications – This will show all the apps you have on your device
  6. Find the App – Scroll through and find the app you want to update
  7. Check for Updates – If there’s an update, it will download and install when you open the app again. If you want, you can restart the app to make sure it's updated
  8. We recommend checking if apps on your Fire TV will auto-update
    1. If you’re still viewing the Managed Installed Applications menu, click the back button on your remote control
    2. On the main Applications screen, click on the Appstore menu
    3. Check if Automatic Updates is set to On. If not, use the remote control to turn it on
